News and weather forecasts are a big part of Megan’s life, but so are beach bike rides, Khalid albums, Trader Joe’s grocery hauls, travel, Jay Shetty podcasts, her family, and their dog Cooper. She initially introduced it as a playful game, but people from around the world have said it helped them learn English and improve their public speaking skills and she says that is the most rewarding feeling.

CBS 2's Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist is tracking Hurricane Florence from the CBS 2 studio in Chicago, while Meteorologist Megan Glaros is right in the storm's bullseye in Wrightsville Beach. Her mom passed away from breast cancer when Megan was 16, but the love and passion for public speaking her mom instilled in her propelled Megan to pursue a career in journalism and TV news. Miraculously, they found ways to get even the pickiest of eaters to try, and enjoy, the spoonful of parsley, feta cheese and tomatoes found in her mom’s quinoa salad recipe. Together, they produced at-home cooking videos to help families try easy, healthy, kid-friendly recipes in the comfort of their kitchens. Megan got her love of storytelling and performing from her mom. She’s covered numerous wildfires, storms, elections, and crime, winning several awards including a regional Emmy. Megan was featured on Dateline NBC for her reporting on 25-year-old case including coverage of 2021 search warrants, arrests, preliminary hearings, and her exclusive backyard interview with the suspect’s mother. She is most proud of her intensive coverage of 1996 disappearance of Kristin Smart. However, she joined CBS2 Chicago from WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan, where she had worked as a meteorologist.
After that, she spent three years as the Weekend Anchor and a multimedia journalist at KSBY, an NBC affiliate on the Central Coast. She first worked in Chicago from 1994-95 as a weather anchor for WGN-AM Radio and CLTV. in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. Prior to joining CBS2 Chicago, Megan worked at WMAQ-TV where she worked as a freelance sports anchor and reporter in 2002.

Megan graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (go Mustangs!) with a B.S. She joined the CBS 2 Chicago in 2004 covering the White Sox 2005 World Series, three Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champions, the Bears 2006 Super Bowl in Miami, and the 2016 Cubs’ historic World Series win. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to be your weather anchor for the 1, 4 and 5 p.m. Megan Healy is a Bay Area native who gradually made her way down the California Coast and found herself in a dream role on the incredible FOX 5 San Diego team.
